Tee Bee’s Seat Mod
This mod adds a few inches of leg room and head room.
I finally got my hands on a spare driver's seat! I'm starting to work on a bolt-in solution that will give taller drivers a few extra inches of room. I may also be recreating some of these bolster pads as well, I will see if I can find anyone who can copy them.
This seat is cracked, which is was what made it a good candidate for experimenting on. Looks like it's made out of FRP.
However, if you move the seat forward and tilt it back, you no longer have this hump preventing you from going lower.
I found that when I'm seated, my butt isn't actually in the back of the seat, rather it is at the halfway point between the seat back and front edge. Tilting the seat back and moving the apex(?) of the seat forward keeps my butt in the same spot front to back so I preserve the legroom but it drops my butt down quite a bit.
Basically I'm moving the seat apex forward to where my butt was before and then down.
Putting more butt forward and tilt puts my eyes at a level to see the gauges through my little steering wheel. Kind of like this. (Months later edit): I didn't go this route. It was not working.
The view of the seat just being in the position above with cushions installed.
